We're off to see Gerri's collection!
I have been collecting Wizard of Oz memorabilia for as long as I can remember.
You can find something "OZ" in nearly every room of the house!
I hope you enjoy seeing my collection as much as I enjoy sharing it with you.  :o)

These were my first "serious" purchases, bought in Greenwich Village during my first visit to New York City.
I was a Sophomore in college (and NO, I won't tell you what year that was!).

On the left is an old OZ Soundtrack album.  The record is in pretty good shape, but the jacket is pretty ripped up.  On the right is a framed photo of Dorothy and friends from the end of the movie.

And here is one of my most recent additions to my collection.
My husband got this for me last Christmas.  It's also a music box that plays the "Come Out, Come Out Wherever You Are" song.  My hubby always complains about all of the OZ stuff all over the house, but he keeps on buying more and more stuff for me, LOL!  He says that I'm very easy to shop for...

I bought this piece at a wonderful store in Donegal, PA.  The store is called "Betsy's Collection", and they have all kinds of collectable items, as well as LOTS of Wizard of Oz things!  I purchased it in June of 2001 after a weekend at the nearby Seven Springs Resort.  I paid for it in full, even though they did not even have the item in stock yet.  They called me when it came in, and said they would ship it to me, but since it's only about a two-hour drive from my home, I declined shipping, and figured that I would get around to picking it up sometime.  I wanted it before Christmas... (every year I do a Wizard of Oz Christmas tree.  Hubby puts his trains under it, and I have always imagined a little 'Oz Village' under the tree).
Of course, as Christmas neared, I hadn't picked it up yet, and had no time to do so!  Fortunately, I work with a woman who lives near there, and she kindly offered to pick it up for me and bring it to work, so I could have it under my tree!  (Thanks Annette, you're a real sweetie!)  I was going to put it away every year, but gee, it looks great on my piano...  :o)

Here are some of my other favorite pieces that have found a home on my piano...

You can find OZ things tucked away in all kinds of unexpected places.
These are actually Christmas tree ornaments, but I don't think they have ever been on a tree.
I like them stashed in this little window by our front door.

Yes, you will find OZ stuff in every room of the house.  These shelves are in our powder room.

Close-ups for a better view:

OZ on the toilet tank?  Of course...

These are some of the books I used for reference in the creation of this web site.
It's quite possible that I would grab these if my house were burning down...

'The Munchkins Remember - The Wizard of Oz and Beyond' by Stephen Cox was a gift from a friend in St. Louis, who stood in line to get it autographed by several of the Munchkins;
Margaret Pellegrini, Sean Formica, Jerry Maren, Gus Wayne, and Meinhardt Raabe!

The blue Wizard of Oz book near the bottom is actually the movie script.  I eventually got to meet three of those Munchkins myself (Jerry Maren, Margaret Pellegrini, and Meinhardt Rabbe) and they autographed this book.

'Dorothy of Oz' is a new book in the Oz series, written by L. Frank Baum's great-grandson, Roger S. Baum.
An employee of my husband was visiting Las Vegas, and happened upon a book-signing.  He bought a copy of the book and had Mr. Baum sign it for me!  (Thank You James!)  Here is the inscription:

Gerri - You are very special.  Thank you for your love of OZ.
Behind all the rain and sunshine are a thousand rainbows.
When you find your rainbow, please make a wish.
Your wish will be carefully delivered to OZ.
You see, in OZ they like to collect dreams and wishes for you.
Roger S. Baum
'Toto Too'

Yeah... I might even run back INTO the burning house to get those, LOL!

These are only a few of the items in my extensive collection.
I will continue to take photos and post them here in the coming weeks, so this page will be constantly changing.

As long as my wonderful husband and friends
continue to add to my collection, this page will be

There's always room for more OZ stuff!!!
